Can I Lose My Love Handles Without Exercise or a Diet? (The Absolute Truth)

5-stages-of-a-workout

Today’s topic. Can I lose my love handles without exercise or a diet?

We’ve all heard stories of celebrities who burn fat without exercising or dieting. Is that even possible?

There are many reasons why someone might have problems losing body fat. Some people overeat, while others lack the willpower to make lifestyle changes. Still, others may have metabolic disorders or hormonal imbalances. Whatever the reason, losing those stubborn love handles is not as simple as “eat less and exercise more.”

That said, today we will explain how to get rid of your love handles once and for all.

Can I Lose My Love Handles Without Exercise or a Diet?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the direct answer is no. Keep in mind that love handles are stubborn. It’s the most challenging area to shred fat unless you do the right things.

There is no such thing as “the magic love handles exercise” or “the magic exercise to get rid of lower belly fats,” but there are things you can start doing today to see results much faster!

Do This And Say Goodbye To Your Love Handles

As I said, getting rid of your love handles can be a pain in the butt, but if you take my advice to heart, you will succeed.

Here we go!

1- Adjust Your Nutrition

First things first: You need to look good at your eating. Nutrition is and will always be the number one priority if you want to lose weight and get fit.

Too often, however, we tend to focus on the hard parts of nutrition – the ones that are the most difficult to stick with – rather than the easy stuff.

But it’s here that all the differences really count.

Let me explain.

People often use different types of diets to lose weight quickly. Most weight loss plans are short-term fixes for longer-term issues.

Even if you follow the diet rules, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re guaranteed to lose fat around the waist.

If you’re following a low-carb diet but still end up overeating fat and protein, you won’t be able to lose your love handles.

If you’re trying to lose weight by restricting yourself to eating for certain hours each day (intermittent fasting), then just sticking to the right windows to eat doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll succeed.

If you eat more calories than you’re burning, you won’t be able to shred enough body fat to lose the extra weight around your belly.

The second significant nutrition error is quitting before you get the desired result. Remember that love handle fat is the last to disappear in men especially.

You will first notice weight reduction in the face and neck, but only after you’ve been consistent for some time will you begin to lose the love handles.

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see any reduction in your love handles immediately. Realize that it will come eventually, but it might be slightly longer than expected. You have to be persistent.

That said, ensure you create a caloric deficit, drink enough water, cut out sugary foods, drinks, alcohol, and dairy products, and eat enough fiber, complex carbs, and whole foods (lean protein). If you eat like this in an 8-hour-per-day window, even better.

Mindful eating like this will burn your love handles and change your life!

2- Adjust Your Strength Training

Now that our diet is under control, we need to adjust our exercise program. To ensure that as the fat loss happens, the core muscles underneath must be properly trained so that it gives the appearance of having a smaller waist faster.

You need to ensure that you’re not just doing traditional abdominal exercises.

You have to train your obliques. Many claim that doing oblique exercises makes them look bigger around the waist. It’s not the main reason for having a thicker waist; it’s the extra layer of body fats covering up the muscles underneath.

So that being stated, make sure to incorporate some oblique rotational exercises into your routine and even add in weighted exercise routines to ensure that you’re building the muscles and training them hard enough to make a noticeable change in their appearance.

You need to be sure that you’re doing your abdominal exercises correctly.

The Bicycle Crunch and Russian Twists are exercises many of us mess up when trying to develop a thinner waistline.

Don’t just move your hands and arms across your body; be sure to rotate your core as you do.

Keep your arms locked and rotate your core as you perform the exercise.

Don’t leave out the Broomstick Twist.

This classic oblique workout is excellent for making your oblique muscles pop out as you burn off the belly fat.

Here is a good example of a great oblique workout with Jeff Cavaliere.

While performing these oblique exercises, focus on the reps’ quality, not quantity. Focus and seek that mind-muscle connection during every rep.

Don’t count reps, but make those reps count.

3- Adjust Your Cardio

Cardiovascular exercise is generally defined as any physical activity that increases your heart rate for an extended time.

This includes activities such as swimming, biking, or walking. I consider these to be low-impact aerobic cardio exercises.

Aerobic workouts help burn calories, which helps trim away those extra pounds around your middle. They also improve blood flow throughout the body, helping prevent clogged arteries and lower cholesterol levels.

Additionally, aerobic exercise improves cardiovascular function and boosts lung capacity. When combined with resistance training, it can even boost your metabolism.

I advise you also to add 2 HIIT workouts per week.

This High-Intensity Interval Training is a great add-on to your overall workout and will help you lose your love handles faster. You will burn up to 3 times more calories than during regular cardio sessions. Keep them short and intense.

Extra Note: High-Intake Intervals Training (HIIT) is associated with an increased risk of injuries, especially in the knees, so make sure to be up for the task. Doing a proper warm-up and controlling your technique will help you avoid hurting yourself.

4- Adjust Your Sleeping Habits

Make sure you get 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Depriving yourself of sleep will increase your cortisol levels, making it much harder to lose body fat.

With our healthy diet and workout plan, it should be easy to get good quality sleep, but I will give you some tips to ensure you get a well-deserved shut-eye anyway.

Avoid daytime naps, go to bed and wake up at the same time, try to manage your worries, avoid blue light exposure before going to bed, get a good mattress, and if you need some extra help, take a natural melatonin supplement right before going to bed.

You must make these four adjustments to lose those stubborn love handles. Now secrets, no magic pills or waist trainers.

One More Way To Lose Your Love Handles Without Exercise or a Diet

I wasn’t entirely honest with you earlier when I said that it is impossible to lose your love handles without exercise or a diet.

If exercise and diet are not working, you might consider another option. Cool sculpting is one of many nonsurgical treatments that reduce stubborn pockets of body fat. This treatment involves freezing the unwanted fat cells using a cooling device called cryolipolysis.

The technology frees fat cells, causing them to rupture and die. As a result, the fat cell volume decreases, making it easier to eliminate. The process does not involve cutting or burning tissue. Instead, it uses controlled cooling to target problem areas.

Since I have no experience with cool sculpting, I will leave it at that. If you’d like to know more about it, I can ask my staff to conduct some thorough research, and then we’ll write an entire article about it. Just let us know in the comment section at the bottom of this post.

FAQ’S Corner

What Exactly Are Love Handles?

Love handles are the extra fat on the sides of the waist area. Although they are called love handles, they’re pretty challenging to eliminate. We often include lower abdominal and lower back fats in this term.

Conclusion

Love handles usually aren’t dangerous, but excessive fat around the abdominal muscles could lead to health problems. Especially the visceral fat.

The good news is that you don’t need to go under the knife to lose love handles. Just follow the steps described in this article, and you’ll be well on shredding that love-handle fat, not to mention improving your overall health.

The bad news is that it’s the last fat to come off, so we must be persistent and not give up.

Working on lowering your overall body fat is almost always a good and healthy thing to do. And I’m not saying that you must change your workout program.

Adding oblique exercises and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) to your regular workout routine will help you get better results in lowering that body fat around the waist.

How are you coming along with losing those love handles? Do you have tips that I didn’t cover in this blog post?
